Remarks

• small to medium sized pectinid (40-50 mm)
• sometimes confused with the other members of the genus Annachlamys:
  

  	Annachlamys striatula colouration inside is white with yellow very colourful with a wide variety shades of red, orange, yellow, purple and brown the ribs near the margin are almost flat
  	Annachlamys flabellata colouration inside is white with bright red dots, sometimes only white colourfull shell left (upper) valve slightly higher then the right (lower) valve
  	Annachlamys kuhnholtzi colouration inside is white with yellow to yellowbrown marks mostly coloured white with brown valves more convex then A. striatula more circular then A. striatula only found in the Eastern part of Australia to New Caledonia
  	Annachlamys reevei valves more convex then A. striatula A. reevei has 4-5 ribs on both ears, A. striatula hasn't
